We wanted to write a brief note to thank everyone for making the Westlock Flying Club’s Rust Remover on May 9, 2026, such a great success! From our incredible lineup of presenters, to the volunteers of the Westlock Flying Club, to the pilots who flew in to be with us for the day, we couldn’t do it without you all!
We had 154 attendees and approximately 45 aircraft fly in for the day. To the best of my knowledge, both of these stats are records for us!
I’d also like to share some photos that Chris King took from his drone at the event. Though drone flights are typically restricted at airports, Chris is a licensed drone pilot who conducted these specific flights with authorization from NavCanada.
Again, thank you to everyone who was involved in the day! It was wonderful so many familiar faces, and many new ones as well. We’re already looking forward to our next rust remover 2 years from now!
